Thoresby Shoot

The annual East Midlands Archery Society tournament between Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire is due to take place on Sunday 4th August at Washinborough, to the east of Lincoln. Cat Smith, Mike Thomason and Steve Attwood have been selected for the team. We wish them good weather and good arrows.

Nottinghamshire League

On 14th August we hosted the third and final Nottinghamshire League shoot, which went very smoothly. It was a pleasant day, with plenty of positive feedback. Many thanks to the competitors for helping us clear the field quckly and efficiently. The results are available here. The important information is that Cat Smith won the recurve Handicap over the three shoots and overall we were second recurve team.

The day was made special by Denis Beresford making an appearance during the afternoon. For someone who is recuperating from a broken hip he is doing very well indeed and was seen up at the targets on several occasions.

County match against Warwickshire and Derbyshire. Cat Smith and Emma Thomason shot recurve for Nottinghamshire. Mike Thomason shot in the compound match. Although the day was dry it was windy. Unfortunately Nottinghamshire were third in both categories.
